Creating AI-Integrated Lesson Plans

Hello everyone, in this post, I will be talking about a lesson plan integrated with AI. "What is AI?" you may ask. Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think, learn, and make decisions. AI systems use algorithms and data to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as problem-solving, language understanding, and pattern recognition. With the help of developing technologies, AI can even be used for educational purposes. So, for this lesson, me and Belinay Teacher wanted to create a lesson plan using the AI tool called Monica. The lesson will start with a brainstorming activity that will help students think critically about one of the daily expressions we use: greetings! Then, they will continue by exploring the Monica AI application to create a unique postcard for their imaginary penpal, thinking about their penpal’s identity, where he/she lives, and also their potential relationship. After opening the app and familiarizing themselves with its features, especially the communication tool, they will want it to suggest phrases and make their message creative. They will ask Monica, “How can I write a postcard?" Finally, they will prepare their postcards based on the answers they receive. Also, they need to remember using the greeting expressions they have learned in the first task. For the post-activity, students will answer some reflective questions about the previous activity after sharing the postcard they have created with the class and giving feedback to each other. By preparing an AI-integrated lesson plan, we wanted to show that AI tools can simplify and enhance personalized learning. Platforms, such as the Monica AI tool, tailor lessons to individual needs, while virtual tutors and chatbots provide 24/7 support.
